I don't really have a problem with whatever personal beliefs these people have. It's when they used their celebrity to promote them over mine, is when I get perturbed.

True. I think their attitudes are a factor as well. They really have bought into the lie that they are part of the elite in our culture—that their celebrity has somehow bought them credibility.

Yet credibility is based upon the actions and character of the speaker. How can their opinions have moral authority when many of them either live immorally or continuously portray immoral characters?

This is why they liked Clinton. He claimed credibility without the character to sustain it. It is the inherent problem of liberalism. It all sounds really nice and utopian, but it is not based on reality.

These celebrities talk down to the men and women who keep this country going, while not realizing that what they do is a completely disposable aspect of our society.

I think some humility on their part would bode well. But who could convince them of that now?
