NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Military sources say as many as four North Korean MiGs intercepted a U.S. reconnaissance plane over international waters during the weekend, MSNBC reported Monday.
According to the sources, the MiGs came within 500 feet of the U.S. RC-135 plane but didn't act aggressively, MSNBC said.
The network said the incident - the first such intercept since 1969 - happened in international air space over the Korean peninsula.

If it were really shot down, don't you think they'd be covering it right now along with the other stations?

It was a MEGA mistake by FOX. I have the still image of it but have no way of posting it. I listened to Brett Bair talking from the Pentagon saying the had only come within 500 feet of our plane. I thought it was funny because it contradicted what he was saying. MSNBC broke the story a good five minutes before FOX.

Every day delay is now working against us. I disagree. Sometimes things are happening behind the scenes (and in divine realms) that make Bush look foolish for the time being. He's going to be proved right in his timing if he continues to act wisely.

"Normal 4me" has a screen capture of the wording I saw on FOX. He can't upload it himself and is going to send it to a fellow freeper to post the pic.

I listened to Brett Bair talking from the Pentagon saying the had only come within 500 feet of our plane. CBS reports one of them came within 50 ft.:
March 3, 2003 (CBS) Four North Korean MiGs intercepted a U.S. reconnaissance jet flying in international air space over the Korean peninsula this weekend.
One of the MiGs came within 50 feet of the U.S. RC-135 plane, reports CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin.
The North Korean plane made no aggressive moves toward the U.S. plane.
The incident happened on Sunday, more than 100 miles off the coast of North Korea.
