Good afternoon, Aqua.

Our first 2 1/2 years here, we lived right on the 95-acre lake near the middle of town.
It was wonderful to have full view daily of sunrises and sunsets reflecting on the water, and of the ducks and geese - 4 alligators..:)) - herons, large owls, and a resident eagle, sometimes seen.

Two herons were daily visitors to my shoreline.
Named the white one Ichabod Crane and the darker one, very stately, Herodotus.

Good afternoon...enjoyed visualizing your memory of living lakeside with the different animals then remembered these paintings at the online gallery and brought them over here for you and the others to enjoy.

Patience is a virtue. In nature there are few creatures who exemplify this more effectively than the great blue heron. Whether wading the shallows and stalking minnows, or settling to fish from a branch extending up from the water, these wonderful birds are extraodinary anglers.

Heron in Flight They can stand patiently for an opportunity to catch a small fish, but the heron in flight is one of the most beautiful creatures of earth.
