Who do you think is better than Bill Gertz?

Jim Dunnigan, for one.( Strategypage.com). Don't be surprised if you see him on the networks once the war starts. (He was on NBC DURING the 1991 Gulf War.)
However, they don't have him on in the major media in the run-up BEFORE a war because he doesn't provide enough scare stories; the media uses the Hackworths of the world for that...he did appear on local radio some. I remember in December before GW I on a local radio show he was going on and on about how bad the Iraqi Army was and the host was just totally incredulous.
Problem with Gertz is that he's got some World-Net-Dailyish qualities; every story is sort of overexcited, overhype, something big and scary....kind of short on solid background and real military nuts-and-bolts.

Who do you think is better than Bill Gertz?Bill Gertz sank a couple of notches in my ledger when he repeated a claim by William Safire that the Homeland Security Act authorized TIA when it did nothing of the sort, which calls into question how vigorous he is with his fact-checking - andthe editorial board of the Washington Times did the same, as well as the Cato Institute and Bob Barr. These people are paid to research facts, and they failed to do such IMO because Safire's claims fit their assumptions about the Homeland Security Act.
