in Los Angeles a march of support to the American troops was carried out yesterday to fight the terrorism and to attack the government of Sadam Husein.
Taking advantage of the execution of the XVIII Marathon of Los Angeles, the organizations Fit-Aim-Act and Justiceville Homeless USA, this last one headed by the homeless activist, Ted Hayes, they initiated their demonstration at 10:00 in the morning at the corner of Olympic and Figueroa, in the center of the city.
Once there they walked to the Dome Village on Golden Avenue, where speeches in favor of the war were listened to.
During its travels the demonstrators repeated phrases such as: "Peace for the Iraqi town", " Free Iraq", "we Support Bush" and "Sadam is a mouse".
Joel Villegas, a Mexican resident of Los Angeles, who came to rally with his children Arturo, 6, and Luis Angel, 2, said what the president Bush is trying to do is disarm Husein so that he can not do more terrorist attacks.
"I am not favor of the war, but if the man [Sadam Husein] does not want to be disarmed and has chemicals and mísiles that can put an end to a country, then yes, he wants the war because, since they said they disarmed, he began to assemble his people", he commented.
Ron Smith, one of the organizers of the march, indicated that the objective of these acts is to show support to the American troops, the next one will be March 23, before the Academy Awards at the Kodak theater in Hollywood, when they will carry out another rally.
"We do not want the war", clarified Smith, "but Sadam is the type of person that would be able to use a massive weapon of destruction and therefore is necessary to attack, because if we do not do anything a great deal of people can die".
In turn, Paul Nissan, another of the participants, indicated that they are against the war, but to prevent the terrorism we have to fight. "If they threaten us, we have to fight", he emphasized.
"Of 68 years and veteran of the war of Vietnam, Ronnie Guyer participated also in the act to support the mission of the president George W. Bush.
"The war began September 11. The war came home. We were attacked and we should protect us, and a war against the terrorism is the best method of defense", mentioned the former combatant of war.
