Brea, California - 3/2/2003 Anti-War crowd gets cornered in Orange County. |
Anti-War Protestors put on an ugly face Saturday Afternoon - being pretty much confined to a single corner at the intersection of Brea and Imperial Hwy.
For the past few months, a small crowd of the Anti-American faithful has had the intersection all to themselves.
The usual opportunistic "causes" have climbed aboard the "No War" band wagon. Hemp: aka Cannabis aka Marijuana |
|
The red "V" is for "Vagina" - the button pinned to her shirt reads "Pussies Unite". She's angry that, due to her lack of education, she can only make minimum wage. She believes that the government should provide her with a better paying job and free healthcare. Hmmm.... quack quack, waddle waddle.... - Socialism! Hey great idea - worked well in the U.S.S.R.... right? Problem is, most of these "Activists" don't even know what U.S.S.R. stands for. They're not old enough to remember. Many of them are college students - one of whom who, after standing shouting "NO WAR FOR OIL" all day long - I saw driving off in a Toyota SUV. Hmm... that's not hypocritical, is it? |
|
But, over the past several weeks, things have changed. The Anti-Americans are no longer in complete control of the intersection. |

Ashley B. is a retired Art teacher from Laguna Niguel. She joins the other Pro-Americans here with a simple, single, message: There are many people here who support our troops and their Commander in Chief |
|
This was a typical, Pro-American, response. While the Anti-War corner did receive it's share of responses, a clear majority of the positive responses were directed at the Pro-Americans.
. | This fire truck made several runs during the afternoon - and they made a point of honking their horn loud and long for the Pro-Americans every time they drove past on their way back to the firehouse. |
Louise Ross gathers contact information from the Pro-Americans. She has taken up the task of organizing the opposition to the Anti-War crowd at the intersection.
Her Son, Sgt. Charles Ross, is a Marine Reservist who has been deployed to the gulf. |
