To be vital to your 80th year is a special gift from God. Each of us has our time to go. Yet when it happens to the ones we love, it is something that we are surprised at, as if it just happens to others.

Death is a destroyer, and it hurts us so when we remain. Jesus, on the cross, destroyed the power of death, and through His resurrection, proved to us that He had done so.

You alluded in your note of the power of Satan. His power is so limited compared to Jesus. That your mom got to see your Grandfather one more time, thast was a gift from God also. Many do not get the chance to say goodbye. A phone call comes, with its dreadful, irreversible news, and that's all we have. Your mom has so much more for her heart than only that.

We take nothing from this earth into eternity, except those in our family that have received salvation and eternal life from Jesus.Jesus has promised us that we will be there with Him in the dwellings that He has prepared for us.So, as the Bible says, let us not grieve as those who have no hope. In the midst of the pain caused by the death of those we love, we have the overarching hope in the power of our Saviour, who grants us the peace that passes all understanding, even in times just like this.
