If TLBSHOW is right in what he surmises in #354, Garrett and FoxNews may not have been mistaken in their report.
To: TLBSHOW
Because here is what I think. I think it was a true story and Frist GAVE the interview and when the GOP saw the damage Rush was doing Friday afternoon from 12 to almost 2 AND HOW UPSET HE WAS AND THE FIRST CALLER WAS UPSET WITH THE GOP AND RUSH SAID WHY EVEN BOTHER GETTING RID OF TRENT LOTT, they (gop) called and back tracked and said it wasn't so.If you believe this, then you need to go to the Kiddie Site and play for a while until your political skills are at a novice level at least. There is absolutely NO WAY this happened this way.
Did you hear the President's remarks on Estrada the day before? This is not being decided by Rush driven Senate phone traffic, not a chance.

I will bet you they went back and played the Frist EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Fox and then did the story from that word for word for the FRIDAY VERSION......

Frist gave the interview to Fox, maybe he wasn't on the same page as the President.

Frist gave the interview to Fox, maybe he wasn't on the same page as the President.I could repeat my last response verbatim to this post. This is even more unlikely than Rush callers making them change their mind. SO, your position is Frist and Bush weren't on the same page, and then Rush callers set them both straight?
You are not making a very good argument on this one.
I think your problem is that you are a Conservative, and have the same goals as many on this site, but you just have a tin ear for politics. And no concept of strategery.

And that means censors who only want to allow pro-Bush statements will always find cause to object to him.One could turn this statement around and say that censors who only want to allow TLB statements will always find cause to object. But his sort of unconsidered honesty is worth infinitely more than the dishonesty of sycophants.
Your assertion that those "who question" are dishonest sycophants cuts both ways. Would you want others who disagree with TLB to accuse YOU of being a TLB sycophant?

Actually, I think you've hit upon it.
Sycophant is a very good description of TLBSHOW.

TLBSHOW is wrong -- the original Fox report was wrong as it said that it was an historic vote to end the filibuster on Wednesday night.
The only votes taken were for Qurorum Calls! There was no cloture vote scheduled as there has to be an advance notice of 48 hour to have a cloture vote not to mention because people yield the floor, it is not a full blown filibuster.
Sen Frist puts the Senate into Executive Session to debate the Estrada nomination. That is not a filibuster!
I could have taken the Fox story and torn it apart for what I knew to be fact and now looking back I should have done more than talk about the first three paragraphs of the original Fox story that was wrong.
TLBSHOW is wrong if he says the original Fox story was right! Earlier in this thread I took the first three paragraphs of the original story and told why they were wrong!
This is has got to be the dumbest discussion yet. We are now expected to take the word of Fox News Channel over the word of Senatorial offices. Not to mention that I personally took apart the first part of the Fox story.
I saw that entire debate and know there was NO cloture vote that night! All Sen Frist did was call for a Quorum Call and for Unanimous Concent to vote which was objected to by the RATs.
Now how many more times to I have to post on here that the original Fox story was WRONG, Rush was WRONG originally because he followed the FOX STORY WHICH WAS WRONG, and two Senate offices corrected the Fox Story.

It looks like TLB is now saying that the story was true, but after Rush got all upset, the GOP changed their turn.

Did Rush say the Fox Story was wrong? Yes or No......
what matters is did Fox say it was wrong? Nope because it was Frist's own words.........

I would say "Fast to Pick Sides", "Glacially Slow to Change", "Not Receptive to New Information", "Doesn't Play Well with Others", and "Probably Means Well" describe TLBSHOW better than "Sycophant".

Not sure if it is actually classified as a psychosis but...
Regarding those who suffer from Irrational Stubbornness:
"Once they make a decision, it gets tied up with ego and they can become irrationally committed to it. They anticipate feeling worse if they switch and lose than if they stick and lose.
Their brains are wired in such a way that encourages them to stay with their choices, no matter how poorly informed or insignificant they are. They'd rather feel right than reconsider."

But then, it is NOT just Howlin or I that respond as your 'ping' seems to imply. You're right. We all get rubbed the wrong way by some people...I've been there. I'm on your side, and agree with you on the issues of truth v. distortion, but is it worth the energy?
In the end we're all big boys and we all want the same things. I'm no hall monitor so I'll shut up and continue to enjoy your live threads! FReegards...

If you keep making stupid statements, I will keep correcting them!
President Bush and Senator Frist are on the same page on the Estrada nomination.
That very morning (Wednesday), President Bush said he was standing with the Estrada nomination to the end and never not giving up on the nomination. That was conveyed to the Senate! Senator Frist talks to the President on a continual basis and if you think Senator Frist would not be on the same page as the President on this nomination then I have a Brooklyn Bridge to sell you.
We all know your dislike for Frist and love for Lott so knock it off!
Repeat -- THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, GEORGE W. BUSH, AND THE MAJORITY LEADER OF THE SENATE, BILL FRIST, M.D., are on the same page when it comes to the Miguel Estrada nomination.
I just returned from the Cleveland County Republican Convention where I was a delegate. Don't go telling me the Republicans are caving on Estrada -- couldn't be farther from the truth!

From listening to Rush on Friday and again from the Rush link, Rush says gridlock is his friend and if the govt can't pass more laws is good. He is slamming the rats but good!
I doubt the GOP will cave now. If they do a repeat of Fridays first 2 hours will happen with all those phone calls.

Is Rush Lying? Did he say the Fox story was wrong? Do you just pick and chose what words you want to agree with your IDOL? Either Rush said it or he didn't.... Now which is it....... Or can you even comprehend that little bit?

On Wednesday morning the President said he was backing Miguel Estrada all the way, the Senate Republicans took the floor Wednesday night and gave some powerful presentations, and then Fox comes out the Republicans had a bad night! And add to that, Sen. Nelson coming out, not only for the vote to be held, but that he would vote FOR Estrada. The big MO was and is going with the Republicans and I cannot believe this attempt to make us think that black is white and the sky is green.
