Great post. Glad to see that others in the world can see what's really going on.
By the way, I get deployed on the war on terror in weeks.

This post pretty much reflects my own views of what's really going on. I believe this is nothing less than an attempt to use a democratic Iraq as a catalyst to transform the mindset of the entire Arab world, or at least that portion of the Arab world that isn't utterly insane. It is an extremely bold and historical move on Bush's part. My opinion is that Bush wants these Middle Eastern problems SOLVED, and he's fed up with the "peace process" and "inspections" charades that go on and on and on with no end in sight. And the irony is, if he succeeds, there is probably no way he would ever get the Nobel Peace Prize, which is reserved for failures like Jimmy Carter and thugs like Yasser Arafat.

Right on the money. If we had an honest press and a loyal opposition, I believe Bush would explain what he is doing. Since we don't, he is constrained in what he can say.

Ping. This predates tonight's speech, and foreshadows it. These guys have some pretty decent conjecture on how things are working.

Great post - I am amazed at what you folks find. Altering the mindset of the Islamic world seems an impossible task - but the alternative is far worse.

This is a very thought-provoking article. Thanks for posting.

The shortlist of nations who declined to change their ways became the axis of evil. Iraq was deemed danger No. 1. It was judged the most likely place for terrorists to get WMD. It was also felt a message had to be sent to such countries. Toppling Hussein would do just fine. My point exactly!
