Daschle objected, though. I got lost in what Frist was saying after that, though.....something about giving senators (Dems) each up to an hour to speak before the vote....Daschle objected again.

Sorry if that's clear as mud.

Daschle was objecting to the circumstances under which a vote might come to order. But Frist has made a motion that they vote at midnight and has called for the yeas and nays on that issue - objecting to modification of his ground rules. He's basically asking for a vote on whether or not to debate and vote by midnight - which only needs a simple majority. That means All the Dems will be scrambling to get back there with no sleep and will have to fillibuster at this point and maintain the floor in order to keep the vote from happening at midnight. Orrin in effect surrendered the Dem juggler to Frist and frist is biting.
