You are correct. Frist was giving them a taste of how it's going to be. He was letting them know that he's in the
driver's seat and he knows it. He was saying "I will punish you until you yield".

That's what I think. The Dems got hammered tonight - surely they're beginning to realize that we're not going to give in.

Let them lick their wounds overnight and maybe a few more will reconsider supporting the filibuster. Once we get the 60 votes, maybe the Dems will capitulate and allow the up or down vote.

Yep, that's what I'm praying for, that the Democrats' hearts will be softened, that Estrada will be confirmed, and that the Senate can get on with it.

Maybe you know that... I don't... I assume that Frist wants to get some things on the record. At some point he'll have to decide to continue, pull the nomination off the floor, leave it as a part time debate item, or ask for a cloture vote. I'm sure he's counting votes.
