Thanks to all the folks that I had dinner with at CPAC. Who says kindred spirits don't exist. That is not true, Nutmeg, Free the Hostages and Zelig etc. This is why I fight for you guys.

Just keep praying for our President that he may prevail.
The race isn't given to the swift or to the strong but to he that can endure. But if I was a betting man I would go with the swift and strong.

The time is growning near when we are going to start putting warheads on their foreheads. Don't loose hope when flag drapped coffin's are plastered over the TV. We will hold firm.

When I was working in the ER at Portsmouth Naval and the survivors of the USS Cole came told us thank you. I was really moved when those hero's thanked us who were here at home for believing in them. That was pretty moving indeed.

I am the son of a war hero and that maybe why I serve, because my dad didn't have a choice I did. I have met some great people and traveled throughout the world. The only place I would fight for is the good ole USofA.

In my role as the Medical Training Officer I have this quote hanging on my shingle. "Let's be damned sure that no man's ghost's will ever say if your training program had done its job."

The greatest of respect and appreciation are due you, Warrior Nurse.

As a proud veteran of the USMC - Korean Conflict - and my husband fighting in both Korea and Southeast Asia - it is thrilling to see the torch passed to those like you and your compatriots.

Our prayers for you go forth in a continuous stream every day.

I'm so glad we got to see a picture of you. I think it's Providence that the Freepers asked you to join them for dinner. In this short time you already seem like a long-time Freeper. God bless you.

The FReepers in that second-to-last photo from CPAC are (L to R): Warrior Nurse, zelig, nutmeg, bert, Cacique, and Clemenza. Just out of the picture next to Clemenza is firebrand. That was a very nice gathering, and the first place we all (formally) met Warrior Nurse (who really rocked the CPAC crowd with his excellent questions to several speakers!).

Warrior Nurse, I can't tell you what an honor it was for us to meet and get to know you (a little bit, anyway) at CPAC and here on FR. Warriors like you and your dad make all of us here in these United States of America very proud. You are an inspiration and provide a great hope for our future. Thank you - and thank you to your dad - for your service to our great country!

I forgot to mention to you that my mother is a Navy Vet also! She served during WWII as a WAVE (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service), and was stationed at the Charleston Naval Base in SC. She has great stories about her time in the service back then. Like when the Sixth Fleet came into the Charleston Navy yard docks after WWII had ended, thousands of sailors - all possessing "liberty" to go into the city of Charleston - came racing off the ships onto the docks, sprinted through the yard, and stormed the gates leading to Charleston. Mom claims all the WAVEs had to be "locked up"! LOL

She also has interesting stories about the German and Italian POWs who were held at the Charleston Naval Base. "Herman the German" was assigned to launder and press the WAVEs uniforms... he'd put pleats in the WAVEs skirts when they weren't supposed to be there, but the WAVEs loved them!

My father was a war hero also, as was yours. He served during World War II in the 169th Infantry, 43rd Division of the US Army. He participated in a lot of the action in the Pacific Theater: Guadalcanal, New Georgia, New Guinea, Solomon Islands and the Philippines. He earned the Silver Star medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, American Defense Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater medal (with four stars), Victory Medal, Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation and the Philippine Liberation Medal.

Many of my uncles and cousins have served in the Army and Navy as well... during World War II, the Korean War, Viet Nam and the Gulf War. My grandfather fought in the trenches of France during World War I.

Heroes... every one of them. A HUGE THANK YOU to all soldiers and Vets who fight or who have fought for our freedom!
