I really wish I hadn't watched that video.

I'm sincerely sorry, and know exactly what you mean. I tried to make the warning clear and say exactly what it was going to be.

Every time I hear about another beheading in any of the Muslim countries, such as the almost weekly reports from our Pakistan, I am reminded of that horrible image. It is worse, at least for me, when I know the beheaded were women. As disturbing as it is, it makes me aware of what those glib news strories really mean, and how calloused we have become that these kinds of horrors can be reported so often, as though they were nothing more than a little misunderstandings.

I appologize again. It does go away, but maybe it shouldn't until these atrocities cease.

Will there be a matinee showing of filmed abortions performed here in the US?

I figure that in many, many aspects, we are as bloody as Muslims.

They don't behead 1.5 million women in a year, do they?

We murder that many babies yearly.

You did make the warning clear. My curiosity got the best of me. Seeing someone die with a boot on their head and a knife to their throat is traumatic. I pray for that soldier, whoever he was.

I know the topic of the thread is to what extent we are at war with an entire ideology. I refuse to characterize Islam as simply a religion, because there are too many elements of governance and dominance intertwined with it to separate them. And I have seen too many Muslims talking about dominating the world to believe that their goals are innocuous. The barbarity Muslims embrace as a central component of their culture is something more advanced cultures have a hard time even acknowledging. Lastly, in the numbers game, even if only a small fraction of Muslims are fanatics, then we still have a huge problem, numbers-wise. Combine these numbers with the generally accepted aspects of Islam that allow for deceit of the 'enemy' and we have a potential for harm both from the fanatics and the 'Trojan horse moderates'.

When the 'moderate' Muslims become the worst nightmare of the Islamists by not only condemning them but by actively defying them, then I will start to consider that they are not all a part of the same irrational death cult. Until then, it seems pragmatic, albeit potentially unfair, to consider Islam as the enemy, and all adherents as either directly deadly, or enablers.

My .02.
