Colombia: Soldiers Close In On Rebels, U.S. Hostages
Feb 24, 2003
Amid fierce fighting, Colombian soldiers reportedly are closing in on guerrilla forces thought to be holding three U.S. government employees hostage after their plane crashed in Southern Colombia on Feb. 13, according to a Colombian army officer. The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia said Feb. 22 that they are holding the men -- who they accuse of being CIA agents -- and would release them only when Colombia halted military operations in the southern jungle region. U.S. President George W. Bush reportedly is sending 150 extra troops to Colombia to help the search operation.

I'm thinking we're involved in far too many regions around the world. Let's put an end to this Columbian misadventure before it gets any worse.
Columbian's are not going to stop makeing cocaine untill American's stop snorting/injecting/smokeing cocaine. And even if the US gov't were able to stop the supply of cocaine, crystal methamphetimine comes from American bathtubs with all the fixins' comeing from Wal-Mart.
But that's a moot point, as the US is not only unable to stop it, it is unwilling to do so. Remember, there were tons of "bricks" of cocaine (stored with bricks of gold) that had to be extracated from gov't storage in the World Trade Center basements. You've got to ask yourself - why is the US gov't stockpiling cocaine? Why are they so interested in expanding billions in resources to Columbia with everything else going on in the world (Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Phillipins, India-Pakistan, Gaza/West bank, etc.)
