Uday Hussein recuperating, he tells CNN

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Last December, gunmen opened fire on Saddam Hussein's eldest son, Uday Hussein, as he sat in his car on a busy Baghdad street. He was shot about 10 times.

The announcement Tuesday that he had put his wife under house arrest was yet another indication that things are not going smoothly. Iraqi dissidents say Saddam has moved against her, because she opposed his plan to forgive the killers of his two sons-in-law.
