INteresting post, Thanks. I have also found members of this group to be almost pathologically conflict averse. Any sign of conflict is taken as a sign that they are bad. "Good People" or "Good countries" do not have conflicts with other people or countries. Therefore we are at fault. Couple confict aversion with the denial of evil and you have the useful idiot.

And you make an excellent point with respect to the pathology of this group and their avoidance of conflict. They seem to view the world through a "good" and "bad" dichotomy that reflects the ethos taught to pre-schoolers. Unfortunately, when these people deny reality (and the evil in the world) they fail to capture the innocence of a childlike view of the world, but instead reveal their childish tendencies to stamp their feet and lash out at what they are unable and unwilling to understand. Conflict aversion indeed, at least until the adults of the world don't give them what they want.
