It appears that Eddie Johnson is reading this thread regarding the Rally for America on Saturday, March 1st. Since he is reading the thread, I have a little message and will type in a very gentlemanly manner.

The important thing to remember that this is a "Rally for America". This is NOT a "pro-war", "pro-Bush", "pro-GOP", "pro-oil", or "pro-gun(guin)" rally. The KPRC hosts have clearly stated this. None of us posting to this or other threads on FreeRepublic want war. However, after twelve years of UN "inspections", it is obvious that Saddam Hussein still possesses WMD and is not respecting the seventeen UN resolutions regarding his possession of them. War has always been considered the last option to this crisis; it is now obvious that this last option is now required.

The combination of Hussein's WMD arsenal, the devastating circumstances regarding Sept 11, 2001, and the common goal regarding Hussein and militant terrorist groups (as demonstrated in the recent speech by "Osama Bin Laden"), requires that Hussein be prevented from further development and/or distribution of these weapons. The future of this country depends on the knowledge, performance, and leadership of our national defense (i.e. military) starting with the President. This rally is to show support for the people leading this effort to protect this country and the freedom enjoyed here. If the United Nations will not enforce its own resolutions, then no other options are available except the forced disarmament of Saddam Hussein.

You and your group have every right to counter-demonstrate, but in doing so, you only expose your group as Anti-American (since it would be obvious it would be "Rally Against America"). Is that what you want? The anti-war demonstrations on February 15th looked more like anti-Bush, anti-American, anti-capitalist demonstrations than anti-war. I find it strange that when former President Bill Clinton launched 450 cruise missles in 1998, soon after the UN inspectors will expelled from Iraq, no anti-war rallies were organized. Final comment to any group(s) planning a counter-demonstration on March 1st: are you really anti-American, or is this just left-over sour grapes from Election 2000?
