A law-enforcement official told NEWSWEEK the Secret Service had flagged Al-Arian as a potential terrorist prior to the event. But White House aides, apparently reluctant to create an incident, let him through anyway.

Newsweek says that unamed White House aides knew that an unnamed law-enforcement official said, that an unamed Secret Service source said that the Secret Service flagged Al-Arain.

You conclude things from that chain of laudered unamed sources -- I don't!
