The fiasco with Iraq is playing out like a bad soap opera that never ends. And the "writeup" could even fit in one of those Soap Opera digests one sees in a check-out line at the supermarket.
Last week on "As The World Churns": Rekindling their torrid love affair with the inept United Nations, Jacques dispatched Dominique to the Security Council to undermine their nemesis, George. When Dominique insisted that only more inspectors could stop the crazed and dangerous Saddam, Colin was caught off-guard, but it bought more time to destroy the evidence of Jacques' romance with Saddam's weapons program.

Logistics. He's having to do the job with the ricketty, out of repair, military system left over from the "I loathe the military" administration. His Dad made some "the cold war is over" cuts, that pretty much were driven by budget pressures from Congress, but der SinkMeister's adminstration made it's cuts with a meat ax. Cuting through the fat and into muscle, sinew and bone. We are paying the price for that now. Even now the "defense burden" in terms of GDP is still hovering near post WW-II low values, while we spend the vast majority of the federal budget, whose overall burden is at or near all time highs, on "entitlements". Sadly I fear that will last until some major US city goes up in a mushroom cloud. I just hope that it's only one.
