"The wager was whether I had an autographed pic of one of your cousins Ken or Clete. I do. So I win the bet."

HA!
OK, you're a *winner*.

"Well, no I was speakin' about your "cousins" Cloyd and Ron, actually. Who is Brett??"

I'm fairly sure there was a Len & Brett in there, somwhere.
The Boyers were a huge family.

>I feigned illness so I could stay home from school & watch that afternoon game -- in B&W -- on TV."
"Yep. Except it was a Saturday or Sunday game and there was no school that day. But I listened to all the weekday games in school on my pocket transister radio."

Yea well, 40 years dims a guy's memory some.
I'm sure you older guys recall is better than that of an 11 year old kid.

"That was a great series!"

You bet it was.
That series was responsible for making me a baseball "fan."
I loved both the Yanks & Cards based on my memory of that series.

"So your Mom is the Brother of Ken Boyer's Dad??"

No. The relationship's slightly more distant than that.

...we'd talking about a second cousin, here.

That's cool. My second cousin played outfield for the A's, Reds, and Tigers in the 70's and early 80's.

Now, per JimRob's instructions, tomorrow I will devote my FReepin' to politics. I have an item or two of interest to Indianans and Virginians.
