Finally, an exception to the rule that all entertainers are complete fools. Direct from the obscenity-laced mouth of singer Kid Rock comes the quote of all quotes dissing today's celebrity appeasement crowd and telling it like it is about war against Saddam.
Yes, forget Winston Churchill. Forget William Safire. When it comes to putting down today's celebrity Neville Chamberlains, it's Kid Rock who rules.
Here's what Mr. Rock had to say about today's pop-star anti-war movement: "Why is everybody trying to stop the war? George Bush ain't been saying, 'You all, make sh-tty records.' Politicians and music don't mix. It's like whisky and wine. [Musicians] ought to stay out of it." Take that, Sheryl Crow!
Kid Rock also has some au-currant geopolitical analysis about the Iraqi threat to offer. "We got to kill that mother-f-ckn Saddam," he says. "Slit his throat. Kill him and the guy in North Korea."
Further, insists the eloquent Mr. Rock: "It's about doing the right thing. You got money, you sit around talking about peace? People who don't have money need some help."
Over to you, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn and friends. Get off your duffs, stop talking, and start spending some dough to really help someone for a change.
