I have a .22/.22 Mag revolver and it is accurate enough to pick your spot  anywhere you would be in your house.  I can't say I could shoot the eyes out at a hundred feet but I sure could inside the house.  Loaded with .22 Mag soft points it's not a bad choice if you can hit your target where you want.  It would be best used for head shots.

.22 mag will certainly penetrate a skull from any angle! A SEAL officer was assassinated in El Salvador in the 80s with a .22 mag revolver. (Historical footnote.)
