Snow-and-ice Ping

I just got back from a business trip to Arizona and temperatures in the 70's. I guess I'm about to renew my acquaintance with Old Man Winter in a big way.

Yep, been watching the intellicast radar all day. So far it's staying pretty well south of us.

I tend to like the NWS radar page. I don't know what it is about the Intellicast page that I don't like.

The Unisys Weather page has really good plots, even some upper-air stuff I haven't found elsewhere.

Just went through over 5 inches of rain last storm, so we're pretty saturated here.

Yeah, the ground would be pretty damp and unwilling to take any more water in... It'll just sit around on top of the dirt looking for somewhere to go.

I would prefer snow, but the cows wouldn't ... and feeding them in snow is not fun.

Couldn't you just wait until they came home? (ducking and running...)

I read somewhere on FR that a guy in Noo Yawk was selling snow from last week's storm on EBay.

Consider it penance. (grin) Glad to hear your trip was completed safely.

Thanks for the warning/update. I'd better get moving and do all my stuff this morning, and be ready. Hope it's not too much to stop me from going out tonite, though.

Remember that big storm last year that didn't happen? We were supposed to get something like four inches of ice on top of freezing rain mixed with more snow. Everything was cancelled that morning, schools were all closed.
I went out before noon, and all there was was a bunch of slush to drive through. The video store was packed sith everyone who had the day off looking for movies to rent.

Light freezing rain in AA until 10:30, then startied snowing. It pretty much started to accumulate right away. The wife and I aren't going anywhere today, I think. We were going to look for furniture today, but, naaaaah.

Fortunately it hasn't started off as freezing rain around Jackson. Started a light snow around 10:30...starting to pickup some.

Hope this one is a good one...we need the moisture.

We had light rain all morning in Wyandotte, until 11:15 or so when ice pellets began to fall. That fell until about 2:30 or so when snow began.
