Serbian Orthodox suffer since the United Nations took control of Kosovo

Serbian Orthodox suffer

At least 110 Serb Christian sites (churches, monasteries, graveyards etc.) have been damaged or destroyed in Kosovo since the United Nations took control in June 1999.

Most recently, a church building in the village of Ljubovo was completely destroyed by an explosion in the early hours of 17 November last.

A second explosion damaged another church in the town of Djurakovac. The bombings came on the eve of a visit to Kosovo by UN General Secretary Kofi Annan.

Church leaders and Orthodox worshippers also face violence and hostility from ethnic Albanians, especially where UN checkpoints in the vicinity of churches have been withdrawn in recent months.

Ethnic Albanian Muslim extremists regard churches as symbols of Serbian domination and see them as legitimate targets.

MOST CERTAINLY Muslim. Most carried Bosnian currency, Army-of-BiH military gear or IDs or uniforms. Some had ID cards. All had bullets from JNA/BSA weapons.

Bosnian currency? Military gear or uniforms? Hmm.>

Yes. And blindfolds over their eyes, burnmarks on the base of the skulls from the bullets being launched at point blank range, and barbed wire around their hands and sometimes feet. Those are not standard issue military gear in any army. I've already addressed this; please do the courtesy of reading the whole thread before you jump in. Thank you.

BBC Balkans correspondent Misha Glenny and British journalist Joan Hoey both carried out independent research into the previous history of Srebrenica, about which the media at that time was keeping silent. The Serbian siege of this town had been preceded by a large-scale Muslim offensive, in which fifty Serbian villages in the neighbouring communes of Srebrenica and Bratunac were razed to the ground. On that occasion, more than 1,200 Serbian women, children and old people were massacred, and there were more than 3,000 wounded. The Serbian women, who ostensibly behaved so inhumanely when they showered curses on the aid convoys, had in fact themselves been victims, but with no cameras present, and therefore without receiving the sympathy of the world public. This is a mechanism which continues to incite an obvious bias in favour of one of the warring sides."

They looked very closely at the allegations of Naser-Oric-related "war crimes". They'd have LOVED to nail Naser for war crimes to show how "even handed" they were. Problem: they found no evidence of a massacre of civilians. If there was ANY such evidence they'd have taken him in. Like I said, they WANTED to nail him. But they couldn't.

Repeat a lie often enough and those, particularly those looking for expiation of their own blood guilt, will buy into it.

It's no secret that the US and Al Q fought side by side for a while. Remember Afghanistan, when we used the Mujeheddin to kick the Russians' ass? We can't deny that.

And yeah, there were Muzh in the neighborhood during the war. The vast majority went home after the war. And yes, some were Al Qaida. But you guys had Arkan, and Mauzer, and Mladic, and Krstic, and... and... and.... 'taint nobody innocent there. Nooooobody.

Your attitude is the same as a Nazi spitting on Americans for fighting on the same side as the Stalinists. Just remember: YOU guys started the war, YOU guys started the atrocities, YOU guys carried out acts of genocide so disgusting we had to step in and shut you down.

I don't care whether you hate us or not. We brought peace to that sad sack country of yours. And most Serbs I talked to were damned glad of it.

Besides, if you quit sitting around in coffee shops rehashing the Old Days and whistling the Serb equivalent of "Dixie" maybe you can actually rebuild factories and businesses and get on with your lives.

That's a very good question! Where did all this 4,000 bodies came from (have they searched the whole Bosnian territory?) and how many of them are identified?

Nazi regimes generate Nazi propaganda. That's one thing that Serbia All The Way To The Pacific mastered. You'll note I'm not relying on Bosnian sources for my info; I'm relying on the UN, the Dutch government, and stuff I saw with my own eyes.

Repeat again and again your Muslim propaganda. It is the Goebbels technique - again no mention of a single Serbian Civilian victim, slaughtered by YOU, Bosnian Mudschas!

From a dozen secondary mass graves along the road between Bratunac and Konjevic Polje: the road that passes in front of the Ag Warehouse in Kravica. 83 were identified by name as of my last visit to the morgue.

YOU, Bosnian Mudschas

A good Eastern Catholic boy like me would look awfully silly in a mosque.

I don't recall killing anybody with my note pad or my reports of survey. How about you? Your conscience bother you at night?

As for nationality, I'm Russian....and what eastern tradition do you belong to?

Ruthenian Byzantine, uvazhajemji tovarshch, convert from American Catholicism.

And I had weapons pointed at me too. By Serbs and by Muslims. BFD. Deal with it.

I asked you for the links specifically pointing to the morgue you visited, you did not provided it. Or is it another secret evidence thing?

Let me ask again: So where this morgue is located and from were those bodies came? [...] Please provide the official links.

There was a lot of violence here before the siege of Srebrenica began. Serbs attacked Muslim villages in the surroundings, torched the houses and killed the villagers. And Muslims did the same. From September 1992 until January 1993, dozens of Serbian villages fell prey to Muslim sorties from Srebrenica. Hundreds of Serbs, mainly civilians, were killed.

A lot of raids occurred, no question. You besiege a castle, you run the risk of getting hot oil or rocks on your head (just ask Uriah the Hittite). You besiege a city, those within will lash out at you occasionally. You fail to mention the artillery shells lobbed at random intervals into the city over the course of that multi-year siege as well. You killed a lot of children with those artillery shells, you know. There's a big shell hole in the middle of the playground at the Sreb high school. The shell that caused it killed five boys between the ages of 10 and 13. Congratulations.

Yeah, and the Muslims within didn't completely disarm like they were supposed to. Well, guess what: the Dutch piecekeepers that were supposed to protect them never showed up (it would have required a force of about 5000 to protect the area as the UN agreed to do. Dutchbat had about 300, who, as things developed, were completely worthless when the fit hit the shan). Muslims in the city didn't disarm because they didn't trust the Dutch to protect them. Which, as it turned out, was a well grounded suspicion.

Okay, will it make you happier if I acknowledge that some Serb civilians were killed by the Bosniacs in the area? They were. I'm sorry about that. But even if they were that doesn't justify Kravica et al.

If you Serbs really cared about killing war criminals you would have done what civilized people do: imprisoned the lot and then sorted through the evidence and had trials. You didn't. Bad move. Very, very, very bad move. It cost you the war.

Your nose is getting very long. Such thing as Russian who is a "Ruthenian Byzantine" "convert from American Catholicism" is as likely as Chinese Shinto Pentacostalist. Let me guess, you are a secularised Albanian or Croatian nationalist?

Give me the links to your 4000 morgue with blindfolded Muslims, your trip details and how it is being presented in Hague.

I've stood in this tunnel myself. The Tuzla city morgue is built into the side of a salt bearing hill and is on the eastern side of the city. There's a newer facility adjascent to the old Tuzla city morgue, specially built for the Sreb dead. I have photoes in my possession. If you want to find it.... just go to the eastern end of Tuzla on a clear sunny day, with the wind from the west... and follow your nose. I promise you you cannot miss it.

But if you want more specific information... knock yourself out.

As for the official report on the Kravica exhumations...
