Here's a fun fact about Angelwood:

DC Chapter Freepers are, well, Freepers: your independent, conservative types. How do you herd the cats into an effective, integrated team. Hmmmm. You really only have two choices. Either you actually do start feeding them drugged KoolAid and beaming messages into their brains via tinfoil hats, or you're going to have to lead by inspirational example rather than by "managing" these types. Someone once posted on some obscure thread here that all DC Chapter members thought alike. I posted some joke about how yes, we all wear tinfoil hats and drink the same Kool-Aid, that’s why we all think alike and pinged my fellow Chapter members to flame (DID I SAY FLAME? I MEANT "MOCK")the very idea. We had Kool-Aid and donned tinfoil hats at our next meeting to celebrate the joke.

The idea of such a disparate group of people mindlessly agreeing with each other and marching in lockstep made Angelwood laugh so hard she had tears in her eyes at the meeting! (See the DC Chapter Cracks Up! thread.) It should reflect favorably on our chapter leaders that FReepers who don't regularly attend DC Chapter meetings think we always agree. We keep it "in the house" outta respect for our leaders.

They work as links from my "word" but they don't work here. I wonder if it's the difference between a normal and a stylized quotation mark? Not one of the links seems to work here, but from my word document I can link to every source.

In short, I've messed something up, but I'm not sure what. Could it be the quotation marks?

I'm so sorry - I just did a partial view source on one of the links and see what the problem is....when I copy and paste Free's text, I always get a little black square for quotation marks - usually I never change it in my text, because it displays as quotation marks (or a dash - a dash that Free types also copies and pastes as a little black square - but it displays the way it's supposed to)

When I viewed partial source just now, I see that there are DOUBLE quotation marks around the url addy, which voids the link entirely. This is very upsetting - all those links are worthless now, unless one wants to do the same thing I did - view partial source, take out one set of quotation marks, and then paste the url in your browser. : (
