Guns don't kill people. Only REALLY BIG guns do. Like crime is really going to skyrocket as a result of a $900 handgun.

If you read some of the literature these wackos put out, they are philosophically opposed to violence in any form, and hence to weapons of any type. Guns are merely the begining. In fact, there seems to be a very close nexus between pacifist leftist groups, anti-gun people and anti-Second Amendment people.

I believe their oppostion to firearms is also from a cultural perspective, in addition to a pure opposition to weapons. They view guns as primarily a male, western European status symbol, emblematic of western European male dominance of women, third world society, racial minorities, and pristine wildlife. And so, they are opposed to anything which glorifies firearms or presents them in any positive way.

To an extent, this also meshes with left-wing black radicals who blame inner city violence on the availability of guns, rather than an apparent cultural inability to control violent elements in their own society, predominantly due to the absence of conventional family structures and the absence of strong positive male role models. It brings together elements like social liberals, greens, animal rights fanatics, religious pacifists, and racial activists.

This may sound kind of wacky to some people out there, but I have spent a long time thinking about the illogical nature of this anti-gun stuff and the readiness with which politicians and some religious groups espouse it, and I think this is the answer.

Consequentially, approaching these people from a logical perspective is a totally fruitless endeavor.

As they control the major news media, the schools and a large number of churches, and as they have succeeded in reducing the number of new gun enthusiasts by stigmatizing firarms as objects, rather then their inappropriate use in the schools, we will be seeing fewer fewer new gun people in future generations and I am not certain how we can stop this process. Additionally, they have been successful in further regulating or limiting the legitimate ownership and use of firearms by young people.
