If you read some of the literature these wackos put out, they are philosophically opposed to violence in any form, and hence to weapons of any type. Guns are merely the begining. In fact, there seems to be a very close nexus between pacifist leftist groups, anti-gun people and anti-Second Amendment people.

I believe their oppostion to firearms is also from a cultural perspective, in addition to a pure opposition to weapons. They view guns as primarily a male, western European status symbol, emblematic of western European male dominance of women, third world society, racial minorities, and pristine wildlife. And so, they are opposed to anything which glorifies firearms or presents them in any positive way.

To an extent, this also meshes with left-wing black radicals who blame inner city violence on the availability of guns, rather than an apparent cultural inability to control violent elements in their own society, predominantly due to the absence of conventional family structures and the absence of strong positive male role models. It brings together elements like social liberals, greens, animal rights fanatics, religious pacifists, and racial activists.

This may sound kind of wacky to some people out there, but I have spent a long time thinking about the illogical nature of this anti-gun stuff and the readiness with which politicians and some religious groups espouse it, and I think this is the answer.

Consequentially, approaching these people from a logical perspective is a totally fruitless endeavor.

As they control the major news media, the schools and a large number of churches, and as they have succeeded in reducing the number of new gun enthusiasts by stigmatizing firarms as objects, rather then their inappropriate use in the schools, we will be seeing fewer fewer new gun people in future generations and I am not certain how we can stop this process. Additionally, they have been successful in further regulating or limiting the legitimate ownership and use of firearms by young people.

I intend to buy one this weekend. No kidding. Why? Because it is the biggest gun. Period. Just for fun, just for kicks, just to piss off a liberal. It will have no practical use for me, and I won't be hunting with it. I won't be carrying it for personal protection. I just want one because it is the biggest, and I can.

What you said is not at all wacky. I'm afraid it is all too true.

...and I am not certain how we can stop this process.

I have my doubts that we can stop that trend in the absence of some external catalyst. Reality inevitably intrudes on fantasy however. A couple more real good hits by terrorists will sure put a dent in the popularity of liberal utopianism. That is the delusion that man can end all human suffering by creating happy emotions that spurs all aspects of leftist idiot compassion.

They refuse to accept that actions have consequences and thereby fail to understand that controlling another's life has the inevitable result that a condition of tyranny and slavery is created. They fail to see that conditions have causes which are predictable and unalterable. They imagine that personal responsibility is irrelevant as long as nice thoughts and good intentions are applied to a given conflict. Ignorance of the true cause of a condition is deemed unimportant, the mere desire for a good outcome is considered sufficient.

Hogwash!

Tell me, what was the greatest technological challenge to your acheivemnt of a nuclear capable .50 cal round? detonation? withstanding high g forces at firing? heat or pressure? what do you find to be the most suitable fissile material?

how did your initial unit testing go?

"You don't go out hunting deer with a revolver," Davis said.

Oh yes we do, Mr. Davis. And with considerable success, too. They are also very handy to have when fishing in bear country.

A good modern LeMat for today would be 6-9 shots of 45 Colt and then a 12 gauge in the center. Grapeshot rounds optional.

WHAT we choose to do with a .50 caliber revolver is non of his d@mn business as long as it isn't illegal.

Remember, what these people REALLY want to eliminate is America's "gun culture", i.e., our recognition of the significance of firearms in securing and mainating our liberty from the very onset of our nation, right through the last major wars. The guns themselves are only a PART of their target. The REAL target is the heart and soul of America.
