They just held out until they had tenure and then opened their mouths.

Meaning that honest, outspoken non-leftists (they don't even have to be conservative) don't get tenure. What kind of aspiring professor will keep his mouth shut about his beliefs, when the only penalty for speaking up is career problems, not death or imprisonment?

Due process, yes, But where does 'Academic Freedom' protect Terrorist Activities?
Jack Stephens and Camachee wouldn't answer that, and I'm willing to bet that you won't either.

"Have you ever been on a state university campus? Have you ever been to a California state university campus? Are you aware that, in fact, a public university is explicitly bound by the first amendment right to free speech?"
You DO NOT have the right to spread hate and disease about anyone, nor do you have the right to COMMIT CRIMES.
How many times must I remind people of that?
How many times will you have ot be reminded of that?

MUSLIMS do not believe in our laws.
They believe in SHaria.
That was not an idiotic generalization, as you are.

But where does 'Academic Freedom' protect Terrorist Activities?

For the nth time, there was no evidence of actual terrorist activities until his arrest a few days ago. It was 100% conjecture and hearsay, with a dash of circumstantial evidence. If there was enough back then, then he should have been ARRESTED. If there wasn't, he should have been left alone to say whatever the hell he pleased.

You DO NOT have the right to spread hate and disease about anyone, nor do you have the right to COMMIT CRIMES. How many times must I remind people of that? How many times will you have ot be reminded of that?

Even if you live in a state with one of those unconstitutional hate crimes laws, you have to commit a crime with hate as a motivation to be prosecuted. Simple hatred, such as the one you obviously hold for Muslim Americans, is 100% constitutionally protected free speech. If Al Arian had "COMMITTED CRIMES" as you claim, he should have been in jail, and the question of his academic tenure a moot one. There was no proof he had, ergo the case put forth by USF was total bullshit to cover their own left wing asses.

I don't even know what you mean by spreading disease.

MUSLIMS do not believe in our laws. They believe in SHaria. That was not an idiotic generalization, as you are. 1. I'm a generalization? That doesn't even make sense.

2. Simply because you believe in the sharia does not make it the only law you will respect. The vast majority of Muslims are law abiding with respect to America's laws as with most other minority groups, and for you to generalize as you do about them says a lot more about you than it does about them. Are you also going to claim that Christians that ought to hold God's laws supreme by definition are also not adhering to our laws?

For the Nth time: If there WERE no eveidence of any terrorist activities, he wouldn't have been arrested.
So answer the question, honestly.
Or get lost.
Your choice.
If you don't want to answer the question, just say so.

You obviously have no idea what the laws mean, nor what they say.
You also obviously don't understand basic english.

Try this: YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMIT CRIMES, PERIOD.
Clear enough for you?
I've known several muslims.
They have ALL been unanimous for their hatred for our laws.
Yes, hatred is correct.
How many muslims have you known?

"If Al Arian had "COMMITTED CRIMES" as you claim, he should have been in jail, and the question of his academic tenure a moot one."
HELLO, he was ARRESTED, right?
Or didn't you get to that thread yet?
Haven't you even been reading?
Or is comprehension so lacking in today's citizens that it isn't even existent?

So, not only are people guilty as soon as they are charged in your book, but you were aware of the entire government's case against Al Arian before his actual arrest. Yeah, right.

You obviously have no idea what the laws mean, nor what they say. You also obviously don't understand basic english.

That's good, spice up your gibberish with ad hominem attacks.

Try this: YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMIT CRIMES, PERIOD.

That doesn't even make sense. Because you've met some Muslims that you think hate our laws, we should toss out constitutional protections for all of them? I can't believe you actually asked me how many Muslims I know...You are ridiculous. I would say I know anywhere in the neighbourhood of 20 or 30, with only 2 as people I count as good friends. And while I disagree with most of them on questions of Middle Eastern policy, they are certainly law abiding, in fact most of them live here partly because they like a secular govt.

HELLO, he was ARRESTED, right? Or didn't you get to that thread yet? Haven't you even been reading? Or is comprehension so lacking in today's citizens that it isn't even existent?

Listen, jerk, this thread was not about people that defended Al Arian AFTER his arrest a few days ago. It was clearly about the people who had defended him up until recently, many of whom did so while holding profound repugnance for Al Arian's opinions because it was a MATTER OF PRINCIPLE. I don't think there is anyone including myself who would consider a dismissal of Al Arian at this point unreasonable, although it would surely be more ethical to await a guilty verdict.

No, because I've been told by muslims that they hate our laws.
You still haven't read it correctly.

Are you sure you've actually read anything?
Reading your post gives me the impression that you either can't, haven't, or won't.
Also gives me the impression that you will not answer the question.
It's a simple question, really.
And should be simple to answer.
Unless you cannot understand basic language.
But looking at today's school system, that would be understandable.

NOW, you refuse to listen to the FACT that Al-Arian is a KNOWN supporter of Hamas (Also suspected member. Is also suspected of having a part in the 9/11 attacks. Or didn't you read that?)
Now if there wasn't anything to back that up, he wouldn't have been arrested now, would he?
Your support for the terrorists is well and duly noted.
May I suggest a job for you, like being a voluntary human shield for Saddam where your support would be most useful to them.

Listen JERK, teh question is, what terrorist activities are protected under academic freedom.
(Hint, that's why he was 1- arrested, and 2- FIRED. How about registering that in your mind for a second before letting the thought escape you.)
His arrest and canning has absolutely nothing to do with academic freedom. (That is the correct answer to the question, by the way.)
Since you obviously cannot string that together on your own, I have held your hand to do so.
I do so hate having to spell things out to people.
I prefer they use the intellect that they were born with and think it through.

A monumental challenge for you, apparently.

I have answered your questions in relation to this thread, but quite frankly I have no further interest in your words.

I've had just about enough of this useless banter. You have the manners of a spoiled child and the logic of a dimwitted thug. Do the world a favour and go play in traffic.

No, you did not answer the questions.
You did a Clintonian sidestep.
And then YOU acted in a childish and boorish manner.
To which I responded in like kind, since that's obviously how you wanted to be treated.

So you're a hot one ot be talkng about manners.
How about learning some manners, and actually learnning language comprehension as well as logic yourself.

You obviously have had lots of experience in playing in traffic.
The damage shows.

Exactly, Jack.

You other people should really put all this energy for hatred toward something positive. You might really do some good.

Murdering terrorist? Who did he murder? The immigration judge and the University and everyone else looking for actual evidence can't say that he is a terrorist. Anti-American? For speaking his mind? Since when is that anti-American? Maybe he is not a Republican and you sometimes get that confused with being anti-American. I forgive you.

"You other people should really put all this energy for hatred toward something positive. You might really do some good."

Is a relativist's opinion a legitimate one when it comes to defining words like,"hatred?
