It seems there may be a few (very few) on this forum who would rather not see blacks in our camp. A 6 percent increase in Republican support is very significant. We do not need to pander to blacks or anyone else, but we do need to show that we want their votes, that our philosophy is good for them also and they should vote Republican.
Thanks to people like Rush, we are doing a better job of educating people about conservatism.
Part of the problem in the past has been not to even ask for the black vote...no campaign efforts in black communities etc.
George Bush is on the right track on this and it is paying off...but it does take time.

That has nothing to do with race, only with that concept that if blacks start joining republicans in large numbers republicans will shift left, instead of blacks shifting right. This is an unfortunate attitude that has happered many of our efforts.

There is a difference between altering the platform to appeal to blacks, versus welcoming with open arms any who choose to embrace the values of self-reliance, hard work, and becoming well-educated, be they white, black, or green with purple polka-dots. I support the latter, but oppose the former
