Blair is under extreme pressure and has asked for an extension. Australia is sending a warship and a mininal land force. No other country has offered ground troops. America went in alone to Viet Nam and we all no what happened. Disarming Sadddam is the right thing to do but it is equally important to do the thing right. America has stuck it's fist under Saddam's nose and he will back down. In the meantime it is important to finish the job in Afghanistan and Canadian forces will do much more good there than tagging along behind America just to look good.We are your friends, but we are also responsible to do what we think is right under the circumstance.

America went in alone to Viet Nam and we all no what happened. Wrong. Like the Korean War and the Gulf War, the Vietnam war was also a U.N. action. It is the U.N. that hampered the ability to achive victory in ALL of those wars. We SHOULD go it alone, that way our military can make the choices necessary to win, rather than the U.N. dictating "the end" of the war.

Australia has so far sent fourteen F/A-18 Hornets, three C130 Hercules aircraft,2000 troops and a couple of warships on top of the deployment semi-permantly based in the gulf.
Australian troops were also in Vietnam.
