Part of the problem, i think, is that our side is inherently humble...we do not like to be crass or rude. Notice, that when a Leftie gets an award or even gets near a mike, they invariably launch into a tirade against the war, the President, the Republicans, and whatever ELSE it is fashionable to be against that day. The Right, being classy, simply says,"thank you", and proceeds to thank all those who helped them.
No doubt also, many just keep quiet, lest their views cost them work and connections. This I can understand...I wouldn't want someone losing their livelihood just to pat me on the back.
