Somehow, Saddam's head looks out of place

It is out of place. It belongs on a stake.

The US was not "allied" with Iraq, any more than we were allied with the mullahs of Iran.

"...When Iraq attacked Iran in 1980 over a border dispute, the United States tilted toward Saddam -- secretly supplying intelligence to hit Iranian positions..."

Let's not rewrite history here. Saddam was the West's buddy in the 70s and early 80s. Trying to spin it won't change that fact. And the sooner we remove him the better.

Rush Limbaugh is blasting Chirac today about his nuclear connection to Saddam. I believe he's quoting material from Statfor. He's saying that Chirac has a great deal to hide in Iraq and Chirac is really getting worried about news from Iraq after the war. This explains Chirac's increasingly irrational and vitriolic behavior lately.
