I was thinking along the same lines.

I've owned a nice shooting Marlin lever action carbine chambered in .357 Mag w/a 4x Weaver scope for over 30 years. It is so nice that I would immediately purchase the same rifle chambered for the .500 S&W Mag.

WTH, everybody needs an elephant gun in their gun safe, don't they?

I envy your ability to manufacture your own rifle. Please post your progress in words and pictures.

I'll share that and gladly. But the techniques and abilities required are pretty basic hand and machine tool operation, and most anyone with a little time and more patience can learn to do so well enough to at least modify existing equipment to suit personal or custom requirements, at least on individual examples.

I envy those with the imagination to assemble seperate functions into one elegant package, creating their own designs, borrowing from the most suitable of the old combined with their own methods of overcoming mechanical problems, and adding in more modern materials and working technologies. That's really neat.
