...success at making Egypt sign a peace with Isreal Success? The peace accords led to the rise of Egyptian Islamic Jihad, whose leaders included Muhammad Atef and Ayman al-Zawahiri. Both later became top al-Qaeda leaders.

Yes, success. Having Egypt recognize Isreal means that an entire arab army has been nuetralized and that Isreal's southern/western flank is secure from another pan-arab attack on Isreal. Without Egypt, another frontal assualt on Isreal will not happen and has not happened because Syria is outmatched without allies.

FORMER US President Jimmy Carter ... the only US president since 1945 never to order American soldiers into war ... He ordered American soldiers into the Desert One debacle. If you recall Desert One was the Tehran rescue mission that due to inept leadership crashed and burned in the desert just like Carter's presidency. If you change the statement to "the only US president since 1945 never to successfully order American soldiers into war" then perhaps it is true.

So is Carter going to go help Saddam out with a new treaty/funding to build his nuclear weapons, like he did in N. Korea?
To: An.American.Expatriate
That Carter order the rescue attempt, or any other president order a "rescue" is for me not necessarily an "order of troops to war". So I would at least give the author the benefit of the doubt. What was WWII but a "rescue" of Europe from the Nazis? We "rescued" South Korea from the Communists. We attempted to rescue Vietnam from them as well. Our wars have never been wars of conquest (since the Spanish-American War anyway) but ones of "rescue" by another name.

OMG, forgot about Billy Beer. Still have a 6 pack! Husband bought in a weak moment of insanity. Then kept it thinking to sell sometime. Doubt there are any takers on it now.

'Our State Department never gets upset about anything unless white skin or oil is involved'. Riiiiiiight. That's why we sent troops to Haiti, Grenada & Somalia.
Lots of oil & white people there.

Jimmy, go back to Plains and stay there, please. This country could care less what YOU think!

Did Jimmuh ever say ONE WORD about the 8 embarrassing years Clinton and Co. put us through? NOT! Shut up, Jimmuh, we don't want to hear ye.

'Fraid I can't remember much about Billy other than he was a crook. I do remember that his brother was the worst president since LBJ, at least until WJC.

I thought that you posted a reply this weekend about Billy and a $250,000 bribe that he got from Krazy Kadafy.

Carter cannot stand the thought that the people of Iraq might be freed from thugocracy, followed by Iran. After all, Jimmy created the mess that has killed a million people in these countries by allowing radical Islam to gain political power in Iran.

By all appearances his magic will last another thirty years unless we put our foot down and undo the damage this man perpetrated on the world stage. It's no wonder America's enemies love Jimmy Carter.
