OCTOBER 21, 2001 : (JORDAN, IRAQI SHAKIR, PHILIPPINES BOKINKA PLOT) Ahmad Hikmat Shakir left Doha on October 21 for Iraq via Jordan. He is an Iraqi citizen aged 37 years, was arrested at Amman Airport on October 21 during a transit-stop on his way from Qatar to Iraq. It appears that his arrest may have been in connection with suspicions on the part of the Jordanian authorities relating to visits he had made to Pakistan, Yemen and Malaysia. Ahmad Hikmat Shakir was held in incommunicado detention for several weeks before being allowed access to a lawyer. - Amnesty International * The Iraqi, Ahmad Hikmat Shakir, 37, was picked up October 2001 in Amman, and his passport showed he had recently traveled to Pakistan, Yemen and Malaysia, all key terror trouble spots. OCTOBER 25, 2001 : (ATTA RECRUITER ZAMMAR OBTAINS PASSPORT) Mohammed Haydar Zammar, 41, a German citizen of Syrian origin who first recruited Mohamed Atta and other Hamburg-based hijackers into al-Qaida and who played a key role in linking Atta with the terrorist network’s leadership in Afghanistan is issued a 1-year temporary passport. After the Sept. 11 attacks, he had been questioned and released by German police who kept him under surveillance but who didn't have enough evidence to hold him.
OCTOBER 25, 2001 : (CLINTON, SALMONELLA HOAX) BBC Reports that three weeks ago (Oct 4?), a package was mailed to Bill Clinton's Haarlem office with vials of salmonella-tainted substance inside. Salmonella was also used in a biological attack in the state of Oregon in 1994. Members of a religious cult succeeded in poisoning local restaurant salad bars, injuring more than 700 people. The three had been on a mission to convince several Taliban leaders to defect when they were captured, then tried for treason and espionage.
OCTOBER 27, 2001 : (ZAMMAR LEAVES GERMANY FOR MOROCCO) . Zammar leaves Germany, ostensibly to obtain a divorce from a Moroccan woman. “The Americans certainly knew he was leaving,” said a senior German official.
OCTOBER 2001 : (911 HIJACKERS, ATTA, ZAMMAR IS 'MISSING PERSON') German officials confirm that Zammar reached Morocco but say he subsequently 'disappeared.' Moroccan authorities responded to German queries by saying he had left Morocco for Spain. Spanish authorities said they have no evidence that he entered Spain, according to the Germans. Zammar’s partner and six children are still in Hamburg, and his family has filed an official missing persons report with German authorities. One official said the Germans suspect that Zammar is in U.S hands or is detained in a third country at the behest of the US. A U.S. counterterrorism official declined to address Zammar’s whereabouts directly, but suggested that U.S. officials know where he is. “Zammar is not walking the streets,” said the official. He added later in an interview that Zammar, unlike other suspects who had fled Germany and remain at large, “is not in the wind.”

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2001 : (BIN LADEN ADMITS ATTACK, WARNS OTHERS) Osama bin Laden has for the first time admitted that his al-Qa'eda group carried out the attacks on the WTC and Pentagon, the London Telegraph can reveal. The video had been circulating for 14 days prior to the news.telegraph.co.uk getting wind of it. The killing of at least 4,537 people was justified, he claims, because they were "not civilians" but were working for the American system. Bin Laden also makes a direct personal threat against Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, for the first time, and warns nations such as Australia, Germany and Japan to stay out of the conflict.

Al Barakaat, a money-wiring company based in Somalia, and Al Taqwa, a money-management company with offices in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the Bahamas and Italy. The USgov targeted offices in Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle and Columbus, OH. The USgov froze the assets of 11 people and groups alleged to have ties to the two companies and arrested a principal of Al Barakaat, Mohamed M. NOVEMBER 13, 2001 : (AFGHANISTAN WAR, AL ZAWAHIRI'S HOUSE RAIDED) In Kabul, NA soldiers raid Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri' s house. A senior US intelligence official tells Newsweek that it resembled the lair of a mad scientist. Soldiers found grenades, blasting caps, electronic components and "various solid and liquid substances," including white crystals and extremely fine, silvery powders in jars and plastic bags, and mysterious liquids in shampoo bottles labeled "special medicine." US intelligence later collected samples from NA colleagues and conducted chemical and biological tests. One of the samples turned up a "positive indicator" for anthrax. All of the samples are being retested, the source tells Newsweek. Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri is bin Laden's closest lieutenant and is considered the brains behind Al Qaeda. He may be directly involved in the Al Qaeda biological program. Al-Zawahiri, may also have been hit by U.S. bombs last week, according to unconfirmed UK intelligence reports.
DECEMBER 2001 : (VENEZUELA, AWADA & YASSINE WITHDRAW FUNDS AND HEAD TO LEBANON, CHAVEZ HIDES RECORDS,MENTIONING OF AL-DIN, CAYMAN ISLANDS) Reports on the investigation rescued from documents Chavez had ordered to be burned shortly after the time of the September 11 attacks on the US specify that two of the suspects sought by the FBI -- Fathi Mohammed Awada [Venezuelan ID card No. V-6282373] and Hussein Kassine Yassine [No.V-6293922] -- withdrew $400,000 from the branch of the Corp Banca in Margarita before going to Lebanon in December 2001. The report concludes that the individuals were "engaging in suspicious transactions which validate the suspicions of the U.S. government." The money transfers never were recorded by Venezuela's national banking superintendent, a Chavez appointee. U.S. diplomatic sources in Caracas confirm that official inquiries through Venezuela's banking authorities have failed to reveal evidence on terrorist money laundering. "We've only consulted officials of the government," admits a U.S. economic officer. Intelligence sources familiar with the cover-up say Chavez is withholding information on the Arabs, some of whom were important financial contributors to his presidential campaign. The report, withheld from the Ud States, also mentions Nasser Mohammed al-Din, described as a powerful entrepreneur and a close personal friend of Chavez, at whose home in Margarita the Venezuelan president stays on his frequent visits to the resort island, which is also a favored venue for his private meetings with Castro. Margarita Island appears to be the center of an extensive terrorist financial network stretching throughout the Caribbean to Panama and the Cayman Islands, where three Afghanis traveling on false Pakistani passports were caught entering from Cuba with $200,000 in cash in August 2001. DECEMBER 2001 : (IRAQI SCIENTIST SAYS IRAQ HAS REACTIVATED LABS, HIDDEN FACILITIES IN CIVILIAN AREAS, WMD STORAGE IN APPARENT WELLS, MADE PORTABLE, GERMAN MATERIALS MADE THEIR WAY INTO WEAPONS PROGRAM) A former Iraqi nuclear scientist, Adnan Ihsan Saeed al-Haideri, who has defected to the US, gives an interview to the New York Times from a safe destination in Bangkok (An interview with Mr Saeed was arranged by the Iraqi National Congress, an exiled opposition group to Saddam, whom had helped him escape. It appeared on p1 of the New York Times on 20 December 2001, entitled: “A nation challenged: Secret sites.”). His evidence is described as “plausible” by Richard Butler, an Australian former head of UN Iraq inspections. Mr Saeed said that:-
• Iraq has reactivated 300 secret weapons laboratories since the withdrawal of UN weapons inspectors
• Nuclear production and storage facilities are being hidden to the rear of government companies and private villas in residential areas.
• Weapons are being stored underground in what are made to look like water wells, lined with lead-filled concrete.
• Several empty facilities have been prepared, so projects can be on the move and withstand the bombing of one facility.
