Be sure you don't think about ANY European travel. Spend your money back home.
Cross reference: The fuel you save from not going to Europe via jet can go guilt-free into your Hummer2.

Staedtler stationery products (such as gum erasers that artists use) - made in Nuernberg. Lots of other art and architectural supplies available here are made in Germany also.

Go to this site and find companies that make products in the USA. The label in a dress I just recently ordered had a tag that said, "Made in the USA" by Connie Choi. We should also be trying to avoid Chinese products.

From what I remember, ALL Jettas are made in Mexico. I believe all of Volkswagens inventory is made in Mexico except for the Passat. They then ship them back to Germany.
Germany's unions have priced themselves out of jobs even with their own socialist international corporations.

They then ship them back to Germany.
Why would they do that? That sounds like alot of wasted cash.
Thanks for the info!

OK, I've just gotten back from the supermarket (in the snow). Yoplait is high on my list to avoid. The funniest thing is that in all the imported cheeses, I found one over priced French piece that was half green with mold. Lots of British and Greek. Of course tons from the USA!!! The only other things I could find is waters Evian and Perrier. I didn't even start in the wines. I'm so glad Martini and Rossi (the only thing I drink, New Years treat) is from Italy.

Why would they do that?
Germany has long nurtured a relationship with Mexico as a counterweight to the US. (Remember the Zimmerman note.)
Even now, check out Mexican President Fox's position on Iraq.
Germany has an idealized interpretation of Mexico as "native American." If they could open diplomatic relations with the Cherokee, I'm sure they would. The native American, in the German metaphysical view, is a kind of "pure, spiritual human" who lived "naturally and unemcumbered." Entirely romantic, but I'm fairly sure of that's where they're at.
I remember being on a train bound for Nurnberg once (from Ansbach) when another passenger, (a male and an obvious "intellectual") brought "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" over to my seat so we could discuss it.

ping... call your local beverage distributor and ask them to pull the French "bovine-blood clarified" wine from their shelves.... Does this stuff pass the FDA labelling requirements?

Parker & Schaeffer***
If I am not mistaken, Parker is now a French company. Schaeffer is US but again, in my eye, lacks the style, finish and writability of the others.

I realize the Perrier Group is actuually owned by the Swiss company Nestle. However, boycotting the products will force Nestle to bring pressure upon the Frog government.
PRODUCTS The Perrier Group, owned by Nestle, sells 14 popular bottled water brands in the U.S. and Canada, with non-sparkling water dominating more than 90% of volume. Each Brand has it's own distinctive character, source and heritage. Most domestic brands are distributed regionally. Nearly all domestic brands offer a wide range of package sizes - from single-serve bottles sold through retail outlets to five gallon containers delivered to homes and offices. |

- Deer Park
- Great Bear
- Ice Mountain
- Montclair
