A good rule of thumb is:
When a man tells you what a good patriot he is, he's trying to sell you something; but when he tells you what a good patriot you are, he's trying to get you to do something for free.
It's a long step from acting patriotic to being patriotic. The step is just too damn big for a lot of folks in this country to even consider taking because there just might be a price to pay when we take that step.
