I think the North Korean problem will resolve itself by June.
The important diplomatic groundwork has been laid.
Last week Japan anounced that if they felt threatened by North Korea, they would strike preemptively.
That means Japan becoming a nuclear power.
This has been China's greatest fear for 30 years.
China has a consensus government and will take some time to figure out what they think, but their pleasure at seeing North Korea make us crazy is less than their fear of a Nuclear Japan.
North Korea is almost entirely dependant on China for food, power and fuel and will have to obey when China tells them to disarm.
And that is why we aren't preparing to attack North Korea.
It has been aranged diplomatically.
It will just take a couple of more months to play out

My brother raised a suggestion that I think he came across here on FR (proposed by a pundit, I think)
A simple solution: China drops its border unexpectedly and invites any and all NK's to come across with the promise of (UN) food and shelter
NK is completely unprepared for a non-military threat to its populace
The US gets a defused crisis, NK cannot respond, China gets hungry willing immigrants and a new ally in the US-- and looks like a major diplomatic player
Obviously I'm glossing over the details, but after a win in Iraq, this seems a good. appropriate and reasonable solution to me
