Mine devoured 2 newspapers hidden under almost 18" of snow and snapped a shear pin.
The 60's vintage craftsman caught a newspaper and did the same thing - All I had was a 1/4-20 x 3" grade 5 bolt. It worked until it caught a piece of wood - snapped the auger drive chain.
