Millions of people wanted to read Asimov's opinions, and they paid good money for his more than 300 books and thousands of short stories and articles. That is why he didn't keep his opinions to himself, even though you think he should have stayed silent. Your apparent glee at the thought of his burning in hell is noted. Thank you for your contribution to this thread.
The majority of Asimov's books were collections of essays or stories with brief introductory notes by Asimov. People, myself included, bought these bookes more for his comments than the original stories. He could be pompous and self-depricating in the same sentence. A great page-turner.
