I agree completely with your post. It time America protects it's own borders and people right here at home. Enough of Europe, the communist UN and the rest of these America haters. To hell with them all.
Fortress America? I am all for it.
Interestingly at some point in the past, your ancestors said the same thing prior to getting on a ship to come here. Every last one of us has had to have had an ancestor who thumbed his nose at Europe and all it stood for to set out for a better life in the US. Imagine depth of the feeling they must have had to abandon every thing they had, all of their relatives, and their European future to set sail in a leaky boat for 3-4 weeks to land in America where depending on the time they arrived, they would have had an extremely harsh, difficult life ahead of them. But they came here for the freedom. They came her to get away from forced group think. They came here because they were opposed to all that Europe was. Here is William Bradford's description of the scene as the Pilgrims were boarding the ship in Holland:
The next day, the wind being fair, they went aboard, and their friends with them, where truly doleful was the sight of that sad and mournful parting; to see what sighs and and sobs and prayers did sound amongst them, what tears did gush from every eye, and pithy speeches pierced each heart; that sundry of the Dutch strangers that stood on the pier as spectators could not refrain from tears ... But the tide (which stays for no man) calling them away, that they were thus loath to depart, their reverend pastor falling down on his knees (and they all with him), and watery cheeks commended them with the most fervent prayers to the Lord and his blessing. And then with mutual embraces and many tears. They took their leaves one of another, which proved the last leave to many of them.
Some left willingly, some were kicked out, but all of our ancestors at one time or another said "to hell with Europe." Our African-American ancestors as they were lead on board their Portuguese ships most certainly cursed Europeans as well. The Native Americans raised their fists in anger to Europeans as they swarmed over their homelands. Each and every American can claim some ancestor who harbored deep and unabiding hatred for Europe and all she stood for.
