Nonetheless, Fingolfin didn't run, didn't sue for pardon or quarter, he simply stood his ground.
Before he fell to Morgoth's war hammer, Grond, the High King of the Noldor, against all odds, inflicted grevious wounds, which never healed, on the Dark Lord. He actually cut one of Morgoth's feet off, maiming him and thus, weakening him.
Fingolfin faced death, which, for Elves, was not a threat, unless it was unnatural. Elves, you see, are immortal. COURAGE.
After seeing his foe in the flesh, in all his evil majesty, he still kept to his challenge. HONOR.
Even when he KNEW that he would certainly die, he kept fighting ever on, to at least render his enemy vulnerable to his successors. COMMITMENT.
I know, it's fantasy. But, in all of the wars America has ever faced, gallantry and valour such as this, and FAR beyond, has routinely been shown by our Finest.
Tell me, has such gallantry, such courage, such honor EVER been shown by ANY Skinwaster? WOULD it?
