Now I know why the Wall did in fact come down: The Soviets were planting a mole in Germany to take NATO down. Putin's KGB past isn't in the past - it's in the present. Russia and China are driving all that has happened since September 10, 2001 (and definitely 9/11).

Actually to give you a more obviously intelligent reply, let me say that I believe Russia's position is driven purely by their terrible economic mess and the financial realities of siding with the U.S. being a minus for them in the short run, which is the only run that matters to most politicians when your voters are in dire economic straights. This decision is not that hard as they have been long allies with Iraq and until recently were enemies with U.S. This is hard decision for Putin, as he wants to throw Russia's fate in with the West, but he is deciding "It's the economy, stupid." for the short run.

China may be an unseen hand in 9-11, one of several, including Saddam, that supported very covertly al Qaeda's terrorist attacks. And they have all the obvious motives.

The question remains if Jacques Chirac, lusting for EU primacy, may have given the nod to more than he realized and is now trying to cover his tracks.

There you have it in a nut shell. 'Glasnost' never was on the level. We were too easily deceived from the start. Of course, you better be careful what you say. People might begin throwing 'Tinfoil' allegations at you.

Frankly, I have read that China has smuggled thousands of covert agents into the country. Places like 'Chinatown' in San Francisco are humming with pro-PRC factions and anti-PRC factions. But their society is Chinese, and utterly inscruitable and totally corrupt.

Russians, Iraqis, aQ operatives, Germans, North Koreans, Chinese and Islamic militants just stroll into our country at will. The INS is useless and obsolete.

Mexico is filled with Islamics, Chinese and Russians. Some say they are openly training in isolated sections of the country. The Zapatistas are dealing drugs and running Chinese guns down to Mexico with help from the Mexican Mafia. The Chinese are shipping guns in through Long Beach and no one even peeks at their cargo; they have already taken over the Panama Canal.

I could go on and on ... But what do I know? I don't know 'nuthin' from nuthin.' ... I'm just a guy looking to get by day by day as best I can and savor my retirement. GWB is running the country and 'all is well.' It is in his hands now.

This time next year I may be down in Costa Rica living on the beach. Will start reviewing my German, Italian and Spanish pretty soon ... even a retired Anglo can have some fun down in sunny C.R.
