Madonna took to her website Thursday evening to defend her upcoming video, AN AMERICAN LIFE.

"I feel lucky to be an American citizen for many reasons - one of which is the right to express myself freely, especially in my work," Madonna wrote on Madonna.com.

"I understand that there have been reports about my upcoming video "American Life" in the media - much of which is inaccurate. I am not Anti-Bush. I am not pro-Iraq. I am pro Peace. I have written a song and created a video which expresses my feelings about our culture and values and the illusions of what many people believe is the American dream - the perfect life. As an artist, I hope that this provokes thought and dialogue. I don't expect everyone to agree with my point of view. I am grateful to have the freedom to express these feelings and that's how I honor my country."

She proclained in prior interviews, she was not anti-Bush but anti-war (any war). However the (baby killing) frames will be toned down before production(whatever that means). Let's please leave the name calling to DU. I always admired how conservatives don't need to resort to name calling when we have truth and the facts on our side.

I hear Madonna is making a video on the consequences of war. She's got a point as war is horrible. HOWEVER, imagine if we didn't go to war in WWII. Think about the horrible picture of the concentration camps. Even better, think about how those pictures wouldn't even have existed had we joined the war SOONER! What Madonna and the anti-war movement miss is that the consequnces of no war is way more terrible, and deamning to humanity. Why doesn't she make another video about what would happen if we don't go to war with Iraq. Some ideas: Tens of thousands of Americans dying from biological weapons, New York City becoming inhabitable due to the explosion of a nuclear device, etc...
