I heard from a friend in D.C. who works with someone who's name you would recognize. He said to keep out of populated areas today and this weekend. Especially shopping malls.

Hmm, seems like a good weekend for two separate 3-6" snow storms! I never thought I'd write that after all the shovelling I've been doing this winter.

There's a fairly significant potential for 20"+ inches total from the two storms combined.

The second storm, being later, is harder to predict, and the media and NWS quite rightly are focusing on the first storm. But there's a ton of potential for a LOT more than 6" in DC from the second storm.
