He's a nominee for judge, not a political candidate. His views on the "issues" don't matter to the GOP, it's his views on the law that count. He is highly respected in the legal community and had received the highest rating from the ABA (for whatever that is worth) and the Latino Bar Association.
Dims care about a judges views on the issues because the Dims know they can rarely sell their wacked-out ideas through the political process so they rely on judges to act like lawmakers. They hate it when someone is nominated to an important bench who believes in the rule of law and the separation between the Judicial and the Legislative branches of government. That's what gives them fits.
But most sheeple don't understand those high ideals, so it's easier to accuse the Dims of being racist.
