I would say she definitely associates Estrada with Starr and then you throw in the Paula Jones lawsuit and you have Hillary Clinton in full combat mode to tank this nomination. I suggest you polish up your theory with articles, links and facts and start a separate FReeper Research Thread. Call it something kewl like Estrada-Clinton-Whitewater-Paula Jones Connections.
I really think you are onto something significant.

Very good idea.

I worked as a sales guy for a subsidiary of BellSouth up here in Minnesota (believe it or not), and through various sales award trips and "synergistic" (LOL) plans I met a lot of folks from Charlotte, Atlanta and Birmingham. I loved 'em all.
I remember my boss pulling me aside before I was going down to Naples for a BSE "Presidents Council" award event and warning me about the guys like McCoy, Clendenin and the other BellSouth brass: "Now ... be careful. They talk slow and seem folksy, but they're really pretty sharp."
No sheyatt? LOL. My boss was fearful I'd spill some bean bag that would reinforce a prevailing opinion that my company, and he as SVP, were bad investments. I love the South - two customers of mine visiting the Twin Cities from the Richmond office of the Virginia DOT and I had a few Saturday beers back in the mid 90s and went over to the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul to steal back the Virginia confederate battleflag a Minnesota regimen took from a Gettysburg mutual slaughter - and has never given back to the Virginians. We snuck around drunk after closing not knowing the flag was three floors underground in a hermetically sealed vault. LOL! Some guy that looked like Gus the Fireman from Leave it to Beaver escorted us out. Bad asses on the prowl ... ;^)

Sorry I missed your theory yesterday, I guess that's what they say about great minds.....hehehe....
I can't see why the 'rats are so insistant on release of the memos unless they are absolutely sure that there is something that will cause a collective gasp from the sheeple. The Dred Scott reference was only half in jest. If Estrada was asked to write opposing views to "Motor Voter" laws, with a specific emphasis on immagration, there would be some interesting reading for the record.
Conversely, if people in the Justice Department knew that anything that they wrote as an assignment could be used against them later, no one would want the job.

And, as you correctly pointed out earlier, with Hillary having a direct, probably controlling conduit to McCauliffe and the DNC coffers, most Democratic Senators are NOT going to cross her. Breaux can....he will probably run for Gov. and figures he won't be getting much Dem $$ anyway. Miller can...he is NOT running for re-election. Nelson, I'm not sure HOW he gets away with it.

A letter to John Edwards sent a little while ago....
Dear Senator:
In a few short months you are going to be coming before your fellow North Carolinians asking for money and support for your presidential aspirations.
You can enhance your image by telling your democratic colleagues to either vote against Miguel Estrada or not. Your party does not have the right to do what you are doing in filibustering a circuit judge nominee. It would seem to me that you would want to show some leadership and look presidential instead of following the idiotic dictates of Ted Kennedy, Patrick Leahy and Tom Dacsle.
Maybe you are hoping the memories of this travesty will fade like Sen. Landrieu is counting on. Perhaps for some they will.
Mine won't.
Estrada: Stop it. Now.

She is not only a vicous, vindictive, ruthless person but she is also petty. She has no intention of allowing anyone with a clean record, one who can't be compromised to be confirmed. Moreover, someone else just mentioned that Estrada is Supreme Court material and I agree. That makes him twice as dangerous to her and that just won't fit her future plans. Not at all.
