Any recess appointments whose appointments run out at the end of this Congress can be given new recess appointments at that point, if the RATs continue to block a vote on them.

Clinton never released his medical records either.
To: chnsmok
Well....that takes care of THAT. Thanks, chnsmok.

All those nominees can be given recess appointments at the next Senate recess.I don;t think Bush is going to use this method much. He seems like he rather use the system.

That's not the point... does Joe Sixpack know anything about the judicial nomination process or a specific nominee? Of course not. So why do we care what a poll says?!
This is about doing your job... period.

Graham of Florida has a heart problem. Last I heard he was still recupperating from surgery at home in Florida. He says it won't affect his campaign for President From my limited experience Dims don't need a heart to run for President.
They do need to be able to act like they have one in front of a camera, though. Turning on tears on command is a real plus.
Shalom.

Just curious, but what is the last possible day that she has to announce her fun for the presidency if that's what she's going to do?It doesn't matter what the last possible day is for hildabeast to announce her run for the presidency. For DEMONrats, they can darn well decide to run or not run whenever they darn well please. [Remember Torricelli in NJ?] The DEMONrats are so darn arrogant they think they do whatever the heck they want, and unfortunately, have usually gotten away with it. I hope that trend is about to change, though.

Senator Schumer uses that same type of affectation. And when he tilts his head forward to peer over the top of his glasses, you can see his bald spot. (The things one observes while being bored to death!)

Rush just had Hispanic Dem. caller(was not seminar)
who said she was outraged and really sounded like it.
She said she would vote for Sharpton in all the primary's
and would vote for Bush in 2004.
Don't you just love it!!!
She should find FR that would cinch the deal!!

By THEIR reasoning re Estrada, the lib dems should have asked for Clinton's med records too. They didn't. Was he too a stealth pres.?
To: pgyanke
That's not the point...I didn't say it was. (Obviously from my posts on this subject.)
Someone said to ask her how many called "for" and I answered. I'm sure, considering the source, most are suspect of her representations on the subject, anyway.

I'm stumped then as to the meaning of the motions, unless they met earlier under a past motion and todays motion was for later today.

"if that question shall be decided in the affirmative by three-fifths of the Senators duly chosen and sworn --
except on a measure or motion to amend the Senate rules, in which case the necessary affirmative vote shall be two-thirds of the Senators present and voting -- then said measure, motion, or other matter pending before the Senate, or the unfinished business, shall be the unfinished business to the exclusion of all other business until disposed of. "
Wow, it's easier to invoke cloture on changing the cloture rule than it is to invoke cloture on a question!
It's probably too drastic to happen, but the Senate could change it's rules to limit filibustering a nominee. Apparently the only time it's been done was with Fortas.
A filibuster IMHO is a refusal to advise and consent.
