The local rag here reprinted an article fro Media General News Service:"He's determined to make a difference; Lenoir man meets with Sen. Edwards to lay out innovative homeland security ideas."
Funny thing, though, the article does not reveal a SINGLE ONE of those ideas. It's all about Edwards meeting with him and how he thinks Edwards is so great.
YES !!!!!!! Both of them hanging from the same rope. This is too good.
Note to NRSC - Whinestein and BowWow are anti-Hispanic.

Oh noooo, it's Boxer. I sure hope we can get rid of her next election. The power those tiny "blue" strips of CA have over the rest of us in "red" territory is unbearable...

Posting my question from the tail-end of the 1st Filibuster thread, does anyone know HOW the Dem filibuster of the Judiciary committee would be accomplished (as rumored and confirmed by Schumer last night on the Senate floor)? I thought the Chair controlled the clock....and the vote?

Thanks for the number. I am on hold, though Diane has informed me that their system will automatically disconnect at two minutes on hold. Oh--got through. The female I spoke with said the filibuster is going on because the Republicans have refused to file for cloture. I informed her that I would contact my own Republican Senators to urge them to do so then, since the dems are intent on continuing their obstruction. She gave me a "hmmmmmm" as an answer.
Hope she's started a tally sheet.

"She said she got 8,000 phone calls against Estrada?"
Feinstein is the typical "limo lib" her and Boxer are two of a kind. For the life of me, I can never conceive of the mindset, that makes an individual pull the lever for these people.

Is this a "real" filibuster yet ?? Did they all go home last night ?? I want to see the Dems forced to keep a speaker up day and night -- maybe then the news media will stop ignoring the story ? You're right. Frist should make them stay all night, and it WILL become news. The more people that see this the better, so we must PUBLICIZE, PUBLICIZE, PUBLICIZE.

If Lott were in charge I would expect the white flag by now. However, I think the R's were pretty strong last night. Their passion alone made their views so strong.
The rats on the other hand are defensive and seem tentative. If this plays out over time I think the Rats will lose even if the block the vote.

I'd bet three vital organs that she's lying through her teeth. Amen. I bet it would be a simple matter to discover the number of staffers she has manning the phones and estimate the average number of minutes one of those calls might last... There's no way (unless she hired a couple PBS phone banks)she could get 8000 calls.

I love my state but Dianne and Babs are a profound embarrassment; as is the Hollywood scum.

Does anyone think that ultimately, the Estrada nomination will get shot down? That would be a despicable act on the part of the DemoRats.
