Do we know if any of them are lawyers? Good question. Freepers? Edwards and Kennedy, Clinton, of course...and Schumer. On our side, Robert Bennett, JUDGE Jeff Sessions...?

Just wanted to repeat that I put a thread up that C-Span will be rerunning the President's speech to our sailors tonight...twice. Heads up! They even play Hail To The Chief!

I've noticed many, many Senators keeping repeating the word "fair." This isn't fair. We just want Estrada to be treated fairly. We want what's fair....just a fair vote, up or down. That's surely not being lost on American's, as you well pointed out, we all think much of fair (except liberal commie Rats).

Sen. Hatch:
"They're telling us what a hispanic has to do to be accepted by the Democratic Hispanic Caucus?"
"I think that an apology is owed to the whole hispanic community by the Democrat Hispanic Caucus!"
"Eveybody knows I'm pro-life."
"When we find that someon on the other side supports even partial-birth abortion (he details this!)...I don't see how anyone can stand up for that barbaric process.....how fairly we treated them...this is pure bunk on their side."
"Where's the substance?"
"The Presidents will no longer control this process. Presidents will have to succomb to the almighty US Senate."
"I can't think of a worse thing to happen to this country, because the judiciary is one third of our balance of powers."

The implications are that they could get their guy in to the court seat AND at the same time make the RATS look very anti-Hispanic. Implications turn out good for the GOP and bad for the RATS. Once again Hitlary and friends underestimated W.

Yes! He described that horrible procedure everyone hates to talk about.
God bless this man.

"He says Bill Clinton would agree with him on his record of getting his judges through or he would be a ball-faced liar. "
Strong talk from a mild mannered, sincere man. LOL. I'll bet they're rolling on the floor in the cloakroom.

Once again Hitlary and friends underestimated W. And, once again, to their detriment.....when will they learn they can't out-fox and fox?
To: hoosiermama
The vast majority of the people in Congress are lawyers.

Thanks for letting us know - I've set the recorder.
How old is Orrin Hatch? Hope he'll be around for a long time.

Hatch is overplaying the "Hispanic" factor.

Is anyone indexing all the daily articles on the nomination? If so, I'd love a pingeee...

That is outrageous even from snail slime like Harken. The dems would be completely ballistic if a Republican called a democrat nominee a "left-wing kook".

I agree with all that. But the GOP and the RATS do share one thing in common up there inside the Beltway. EVERYTHING they do has a political angle to it. No matter how genuine their intentions are.

Sen. Hatch:
"Why is it that they're not being fair to the President's nominee?"
"I'm calling on my colleagues on the other side and to realize that this is dangerous stuff that they're playing with here."
"Advise and consent doesn't mean advise and obstruct."
"If they succeed in this they will have established an un-Constitutional precident."
"It's taking away a great deal of the President's power."
"That's really going to cause problems around here like we've never even dreamed of before."
It's unfair to Miguel Estrada, unfair to the President who nominated him, unfair to the Republican party.."
"It's taking away a great deal of the President's power."That's today's Dem. Senate.
